Every day at 5 a.m., David Daggett is up and running—literally. He's a serious triathlete who has completed more than 145 triathlons, including 17 Ironman Triathlon competitions. David brings to his client work the same intensity and devotion that has helped him become a world-class athlete.
"To me, a lot of what I do athletically is a metaphor for what I do professionally," he says. "Both take dedication and planning, and there are goals and finish lines."
While he has competed in triathlons for more than 25 years, David has practiced personal injury law with Michael Lewis since 1985. He is experienced in assisting clients with all types of injury cases, including serious injuries, wrongful death, and insurance claims.
Among many distinctions, he has been designated a North Carolina "Super Lawyer" by Law and Politics and Charlotte Magazine, past-Chair of the North Carolina Conference of Bar Presidents, past President of the Forsyth County Bar and 21st Judicial District Bar Associations, as well as past-President of The Young Lawyers Association. He is also the co-founder and sponsor of Safe Sober Prom Night, Inc., a program that promotes safety and awareness among teenagers in North Carolina.
He is also skilled in understanding the human side of his work.
"Our clients know our job is to take care of business, but we remember that for them the cases are also personal,” says David. “We help people through situations that, many times, are the worst events they've experienced in their lives. So we try to stay attuned to their needs as we're taking care of business. As a husband and proud father of three young children, I recognize that the importance of families cannot be overestimated.”
