| John has been with Lewis & Daggett since February 2000. His practice is devoted to helping disabled individuals obtain the benefits to which they are entitled. John works with Social Security claimants to help them obtain Social Security Disability benefits and Supplemental Security Income. John also works with individuals who have filed claims for short and/or long term disability benefits under private disability policies or through their employer sponsored benefit plans. John regularly gives seminars on Social Security Disability benefits and employer sponsored or ERISA long term disability claims.
Prior to joining Lewis & Daggett, John worked for the Social Security Administration’s Office of Hearings and Appeals (now Office of Disability Adjudication and Review) in Charlotte and Greensboro as a staff attorney and senior staff attorney.
John received his law degree from the University of Tennessee School of Law. While in law school, he was awarded the Hunton & Williams Outstanding Writing Award for the Best Appellate Brief and the American Jurisprudence Award for Legal Process II. Prior to attending law school, John received his Master of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of Georgia. While in graduate school, he was inducted into the Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society. John also holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Charlotte. As an undergraduate, John was inducted into the Pi Sigma Alpha National Political Science Honor Society.
