Welcome Judge Taylor

We are proud to welcome Judge Kimberly S. Taylor to our Lewis & Daggett team. Judge Taylor retired after 25 years on the bench as a Resident Superior Court Judge of the 22nd Judicial District which includes Alexander, Iredell, Davie, and Davidson Counties.

Judge Taylor has received many honors and is very highly respected. She has been the NCAWA Judge of the Year and is a past president of the 22nd Judicial District Bar Association. In addition to her extensive experience in the courtroom, Judge Taylor has also served as a Social Security Disability Determination Specialist.

She is very involved in the Autism Society of America and currently serves on the National Board and is Chair of the Government Relations Committee. Judge Taylor has had a keen interest in the work of the Autism Society since her now 21 year old son, Jarrett, was diagnosed with autism at age 3.

Judge Taylor is very active in her Alexander County community as well, working for the Humane Society and serving as a member of Taylorsville Presbyterian Church for 28 years.

To cap off her lifetime achievements, on January 1, 2009 the State of North Carolina awarded Judge Taylor the Order of the Long Leaf Pine. This award is the highest civilian honor awarded by the state. Other recipients of this honor include Charles Kuralt, Michael Jordan, and Rev. Billy Graham.

As impressive as her credentials are on paper, Judge Taylor is even more impressive in person. She is a bright and engaging person with a charming wit. She and her husband, Tim, live on a farm in Alexander County. Their three children are sons Justin, currently in graduate school, and Jarrett and daughter Ashley. The Taylors are an active family and enjoy horseback riding, scuba diving, kayaking, hiking, and camping.

Judge Taylor joined our Lewis and Daggett team this past week, and will be opening our Statesville office as soon as the space is fully upfitted in the next month or so. Judge Taylor says, "I enjoy working with people! I have a particular interest in helping people with serious injuries and disabilities in light of my work as a Social Security Disability Determination Specialist and my experience as a parent of a child with a disability."

Please join us in welcoming Judge Kim Taylor to our L&D Team!
