We’re Not Casual About Casual Day
Casual day on April 24th at Lewis & Daggett brought support to a not so casual cause. This was a day of the "Sport a Shirt, Share a Night" fund-raising event sponsored by the North Carolina Ronald McDonald Houses.

Our Lewis & Daggett team has participated in this event for the past several years, and this year participated as a state-wide sponsor for the event. The T-shirts were sharp looking as can be seen on our team above, or here.
The event brings together local businesses, schools, universities and hospitals when participants wear tee shirts they have purchased which will help fund the efforts of Winston-Salem’s Ronald McDonald House. The families of critically ill children being treated for life-threatening illnesses are provided with a place to stay and meals for only $5 per night for their entire stay while at any Ronald McDonald House.
Attorney Elizabeth Brewer, of Lewis & Daggett, led the fund-raising for the firm which raised over $2,000 in shirt sales, cash donations, and contributions of non-perishable food items, paper goods, cleaning supplies, and new baby items. The cost of a tee shirt is $10 and by purchasing one, the donor can "share a night" with a family in need. Brewer takes it a step further and pays for half of the cost of the shirts for each Lewis & Daggett employee and their family members.
Brewer became involved in the local Ronald McDonald House as her family personally benefitted from the generosity of their local Ronald McDonald house during the time of her three-month old niece’s surgery for a congenital heart defect. She was so impressed by the care and attention provided to her family, that she wanted to contribute to the local Ronald McDonald House and thereby creating more awareness in the community of this "home away from home."
Last year almost 17,000 caring people across North Carolina purchased tee shirts to support the North Carolina Ronald McDonald Houses. With the enthusiasm shown by the employees at Lewis & Daggett and many others across the state, last year’s total was surpassed as over 20,000 tee shirts were sold. What a great community thank-you to this non-profit organization that does so much for so many.
